Nonlocal theories of gravity

Non-spooky actions at distance for gravity are presented. The
propagator for generic metric theories is derived and it is shown that
ghosts can be avoided in renormalisable higher derivative gravity by
nonlocal, i.e. infinite-order derivative operators. Theories with
nonlocal infrared modifications of gravity are also discussed, reviewing
several recently proposed models that attempt to address the problems of
the cosmological constant and dark energy.
